The Sweetheart Dance Team of Centennial High School in was established in the fall of 2003. There were 36 charter members, 2 managers, and 1 Director. Our quality is top notch and our members are true leaders! As a Sweetheart, one learns not only how to be a fabulous dancer and performer, but also how to problem solve, work together, strive for perfection, be a lady, and make life-long friends. It is one of the truest forms of team sports!
The Sweethearts perform at all varsity football game half-times, girls and boys basketball games, pep rallies, and community and school events. The Sweethearts also compete in both regional and national spring contests and have won numerous awards for their outstanding performances. As a result, the Sweethearts have even performed with the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders at a Cowboys game at Texas Stadium.
At the end of each year the Sweethearts present a Spring Show in which they showcase a wide variety of routines. These include football season routines, contest optionals, and new routines such as Guy/Girl, Parents, Squads, Classes, and New Members.
In addition to performance obligations, the Sweethearts participate in community service projects throughout the school year, such as welcoming home the troops with the USO, volunteering at the Victoria Nursing Home and the Frisco Family Services.
It is an exciting time for the Sweetheart Dance Team as we are heading into our ninth year. There are 37 line members and 4 managers on the 2011-2012 team.
