Sweetheart Director
Mrs. Julie Black
Mrs. Black has been directing Texas drill teams and has been a certified dance educator for eleven years!! She has been the director of the Centennial High School Sweetheart Dance Team for six years. Under her direction, the Sweetheart Dance Team has received numerous contest awards and titles including: Grand Champion Medium Team, Best in Class Medium Team, Best in Class Medium Officer Line, Winners Circle, and Technique Award. Mrs. Black also teaches Dance Team Training, Dance 1, Dance 2, Dance 3, and Dance 4 at Centennial High School. Prior to joining the faculty at CHS, Mrs. Black directed the Irving High School Toy Toy Tigers in Irving, Texas from 2001-2006.
Mrs. Black holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from the University of North Texas and has been involved in dance and drill team for over ninteen years. Outside of working with the Sweethearts, Mrs. Black enjoys cooking and spending time with her husband John and son Owen.
